Bakuchiol is a plant-derived form of retinol that reduces the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation while working to improve collagen production.

Hydrolysed hyaluronic acid increases penetration into the skin even better than regular forms of hyaluronic acid due to its lower molecular weight, and Bacillus Ferment is an innovative oil complex that works to improve the appearance of your skin with prebiotic fatty acids to help prevent skin irritation and discomfort.

  • BACILLUS FERMENT

    (Blend of jojoba seed oil, oat kernel oil, and bacillus ferment.) This innovative oil-based complex works to improve the appearance of the skin with prebiotic fatty acids that help deliver beneficial bacterial lipids to skin. This blend helps reinforce the outer skin layer to help prevent skin irritation and discomfort.

  • BAKUCHIOL

    Derived from the natural babchi plant, is comparable to retinol – but better! It helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation without the degree of negative side effects that you may see with a traditional retinol. In fact, a double-blind, randomised scientific study comparing traditional retinol to Bakuchiol found that Bakuchiol showed comparable results to retinol when it came to reducing the appearance of the wrinkle surface area and hyperpigmentation.

  • HYDROLYSED HYALURONIC ACID

    This hyaluronic acid has a low molecular weight that increases penetration into the skin compared to high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. It helps reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles while the high water-binding capacity of hyaluronic acid improves the appearance of skin elasticity.

  • NIACINAMIDE

    This highly stable form of vitamin B3 helps minimise the appearance of enlarged pores, balances oil production, and improves the appearance of uneven skin tone.

  • PANTHENOL

    Provitamin B5 not only reduces skin redness but it also boasts humectant properties to attract and hold moisture in the skin.

  • BLEND OF CERAMIDES AND LIPIDS

    Replenishes the skin’s lipid barrier, which improves the appearance of skin elasticity and hydration. In scientific studies, this blend of ceramides and lipids helped increase skin moisture content by 27% compared to the control and helped prevent transepidermal water loss by 32% compared to the control.

What to expect

There’s a bit of learning curve when you introduce a retinol or retinol-like ingredient into your skin care routine. During the first few weeks of use, you may experience dry skin, redness, or peeling. This is normal! Your cell turnover cycle is simply speeding up – shedding old layers faster than usual to reveal brighter, smoother, more even-toned skin.

If this is your first time using a retinol-like product, we suggest starting slowly so that your skin can get acclimated. For example, begin by massaging a pea-sized amount into your skin every other day until your skin becomes familiar with it. Then you can slowly start to increase to the recommended usage to maximise the benefits to your skin. Any form of retinol will take time to work its magic; so make sure to stick with your routine to see the best results.

Tips

  • Wait about 10 minutes after washing your face before applying a retinol-like product to reduce the chance of irritation.
  • If you plan to use an exfoliator or abrasive mask, you should skip your retinol product the day before, as it may compound irritation.
  • NOTE: Retinol products are not recommended for those with eczema or rosacea. If you experience a severe burning sensation, rash, or excessive redness, stop using the product.
